FAQs

WHO CAN ENTER?

The Lawyer Awards have categories that are relevant to private practice firms, in-house teams, technology solution providers and the Bar.

The Awards are open to global organisations, but most categories relate to legal work carried out in the courts of England and Wales.

There are plenty of categories to choose from; please see the criteria to determine which category is correct for you and do not hesitate to get in touch if you need some help deciding which category is the right one for you.

IS THERE A LIMIT TO A NUMBER OF ENTRIES I CAN SUBMIT?

No – you can enter as many categories as you wish, as long your firm, chosen case or deal relates to the criteria for each category. For transactional categories only, firms may enter more than one deal into the same category.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT CATEGORY/ CATEGORIES TO ENTER AND WHAT I NEED TO DO?

You can see a full list of award categories, definitions and criteria here and can also download the entry form from the same page. Simply click on the category you’d like to enter and scroll to the bottom where you can download the entry form.

Once the form is completed offline and you have gained approval from all relevant parties, please return to this website and ENTER HERE.

Do make sure you also read through the Rules of Entry carefully before you register and submit.

WHAT IS THE PERIOD OF ELIGIBILITY FOR THE AWARDS?

For entries to the 2019 Awards, work must cover 1 APRIL 2018 TO PRESENT DAY.

We appreciate that some work will last longer than one year, therefore submissions should be able to demonstrate that the bulk of work was carried out during this time period.

SOME OF THE INFORMATION IN MY ENTRY IS CONFIDENTIAL – WHAT DO I DO?

Please note that any information marked as confidential on any entry materials will be treated as for judges’ eyes only and will not be published.

We suggest that you highlight in red / yellow or similar any sections of the form that we may not share outside of the judging panel. Please ensure that any such key is clearly explained on the form itself.

WHAT IS THE WORD COUNT FOR EACH ENTRY?

Please keep the total word count of your entry to 1,000 words; we will allow a discretionary limit of 10% over this amount but no more.

You may include hyperlinks and graphics in your submission if relevant.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ENTER?

Entries into the Awards are free; however, submissions must be accompanied by a donation to our charity, Alzheimer's society.

HOW DO I DONATE?

Please write your entry number(s) on the back of each cheque (you will receive this number in your entry confirmation email once you have completed your online submission).

If you are not able to pay by cheque please contact Sarah Hetherington on +44 (0)20 7970 4532 or sarah.hetherington@centaurmedia.com

The amount you donate is entirely at your discretion and will not be disclosed to anyone outside of the Operations Team and the charity; in 2018 we raised over £60,000 from donations during the entry process alone.

For multiple entries from firms, it is permissible to send 1 cheque for all entries.
DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT MY ENTRY IN ONE GO?
